Nitto 555 vs NT05

how comparable are the 555 to the NT05? Nitto is currently out of NT05 but they have 555 in stock

wanted to get some opinions of how far behind the 555 is vs the NT05

car is making 500+
mostly a weekend warrior, car doesnt see much autox or drag racing maybe a few times a year. Im currently running azenis 615's and they are to the point of needing replaced so id like something that is somewhat comparable to that. I know the 555's will last longer and wont perform as good but if they arent to far behind ill probably just run them

like to hear from some people who have ran both
thanks guys

I have the 555s and I wouldn't get them again. The traction seems decent but the sidewalls are really soft and completely change the feel of the car on turns. I put a few extra psi in them and it has helped a little but not much.

I've run the 555. For drag racing its a good tire because of the soft sidewall but not a drag radial. As far as auto X, I wouldn't recommend them.

If you liked the falkens I would try Dunlop Z1 star specs. Close to the same wear, better performance great price.

If I had to go nitto - nt05s for sure

I've ran both the rt615 and the nt05 and the nt05 is a better tire hands down. I would try and hold off as the 555's will be lacking for your purposes. Either that, or go with the z1 star specs.

NT555 are an old design. I used them years ago and they were just okay. If you have to go Nitto definately wait and get the NT05.

im not asking what tire is better i obviously know that. i just wanted to hear from people who have ran both

i put the NT555 on tonight, tire drives nice so far so good but one thing i hate is the sidewall looks HUGE compared to my azenis

nitto is out of 255/40/17 NT05 till august, i dont know if my azenis would of lasted that long so i had to put tires on, ill probably rock them for a month then sell for the nt05
