SA55M - Thin Paint?
Yeah... paint seems a lil thin, but the wheels arent super expensive so I can see them not putting on some good clear.
Other side of the topic... all car places I go to, I make sure they remove and install the wheels by hand, no air tools. Also find one where the employees have nice cars too (like STI's or something)... because they tend to be **** about our cars just like they are with their own.

This was actually a performance shop with an outstanding reputation. A nice Spec Miata out front, a vintage pristine Mercedes in the back, the tech. has a pair of VR-4s, a couple M3s went through while I was there, and they apparently fly out and do alignments for a Subaru that competes with Gates in Time Attacks. This wasn't just some random chain tire place, and they came really highly recommended by a ton of guys in the regional forum here.
In any case, I went in and talked to the owner today. He seemed a bit surprised by the damage, especially the chips around the lug nuts. He said they never use impact wrenches on wheels, though I honestly don't see how those dents could have been made with hand tools unless there was some serious mishandling. I've gotten locking lugs with a lost key off and done less damage than that.
He wanted to talk to the tech. and his wheel repair guy and was going to get back to me later this week. He was a bit terse, but understanding and responsive. We'll see how it goes...
Still bummed.

There's not much more I could have done.
Hopefully. At least I'm not crazy, then. I just can't picture how I would do that with a torque wrench.

If only they hadn't taken more than a dozen chunks out of the wheels around the lugnuts... unfortunately that's not an exaggeration

It's seriously frustrating, because I plasti-dipped the lug and lock keys that came with the lug nuts, and also brought my plastic-shrouded sockets. You'd basically have to go out of your way to do that much damage. I still can't believe it.
