I just had my Tires mounted on my SA-55M in BBM. It took them about 3x longer then normal to mount them and charged me an extra $20. They actually let me come in after hours to do it quickly but then changed their minds when they saw they were higher end rims.

Anyway I dont have any pictures on me at the moment but they said they were very careful with them and there is no scratches that I can see on the front, but a little bit of scratching on the outer contact service on the inside (the surface that faces the car) were the rim came into contact with the balancing machine.

- This seems to definitely be an installer error. Even if he used the plastic cone, it looks like the cone was removed prior to making sure the rim cleared the balancer arm when then were finished. The lighter side is nothing lasts forever, but I'd hold them responsible.

It's going on two weeks without word from the shop, only that they'll get back to me. So sorry Dek, no progress yet.

I stopped by the Auto Zone at one point to look through all the touch-up paint, and there were at least a dozen different greys that might be close. You might have to talk them into coming out to the car with a stack of them for comparison, though, since they're all labeled "Toyota Grey", "Honda Slate", etc...

yeah i tried a couple of those yesterday and none seem to be all that great. i've decided to get them powder coated at some point soon. there may be a slight color/style change involved in that. since i'm shelling out the cash i may as well make it my own......even though they look awesome as they are

time to call and ask them for the regional manager's or the home/corporate office's phone number.

It's a local place, and I'm working directly with the owner. We'll see how it goes. I'm going to call in again tomorrow.

I know it's gay, but you'll definitely win a small claims suit.

i plan to call around to wheel repair places to see what they can do. if it involve dismounting tires and stripping paint then i may as well get them powdercoated to my liking.

edit: i called a few places and they said it needs to be stripped and repainted.

or if not, then at least get them to reimburse you a couple hundred bucks(maybe $500?) and then use it towards other mods!

I don't know that powdercoating is an option if you like the accents every other spoke. Since the powder sits on the wheel and melts as it heats, I can't imagine it'd be easy to mask off that portion of the wheel.

Sounds like your damage is worse than mine, though. If you find anything out let me know, and I'll do likewise. I'm not expecting a quick resolution at this point, though.

PM me your number. I am going to stop by a body shop next tuesday to see if they can match and maybe mix me up a little bit of paint for a fee. I'll call you to see if you're interested if i am successful.
