Help!!!!about changing brake pads...

So I just watched this video on changing the brake pads on the Evo...Can somebody confirm this is and Evo X plzzz...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHgzwTqiYrs

So im on a lil bit of a budget...Im tryin to save up so I can do my Turbo upgrade so every bit helps...The dealer says I need new pads soon!!!The car sits alot and I only have about 17k on the clock and I bought it brand new back in November 08

Mitsu pads r gonna cost me about 4hundred and if there no other way around it I would liek to change the pads myself or if somebody will do it for me for free(highly unlikely)but w/e...Does that video pretty much cover the job? What about the rear pads???Is it the same process??

Hawk Pads FTW!!!...Cheaper! Better Braking! Less Dust! Slightly more noise but not bad if you do the break-in procedure correctly!

For your own safety, the safety of your passengers and the safety of others on the road - please have someone help you that has some level of experience doing brakes. Sure, it's an easy job. But, someone like yourself who has never done this before = bad idea. Not saying you can't do it. But, just in case you should have someone help you.

Or, buy pads online and take them to a shop and have them installed.

maverick, pads are super easy to do, say about an hour if you havent done them before. ill see if i can dig up the step by step on here, but searching through here is tough.

dont get oem pads, much better alternative for way less money.

key questions:
- what are the plans for the car?
- budget
- style of driving
- clean wheel club or performance?

answer those and i will recommend some pads. Take this with a grain of salt, but I have had numerous hawk pads...stay away from them, far far away.

Racing Brake is very good. where in MD are you? Im down near DC, shoot me a PM and we'll talk.

Hey bro...Ive been looking up on aftermarket brake pads...Since that 1person told me to get Hawk pads I liked the price but I was just doin research on the difference between Ceramic and other typ of pad materials...But now that ur tellin me to stay away from them now i dunno what the hell to look for...

The car sits alot...mainly a weekend warrior if that...Not really doin any auto-crossing although I might 1day...far later...Ive dragged it a cpl times but with dragging when do u really use brakes...

So far it looks like im probably not gonna get OE pads because all my lastest research has shown some aftermarket pads r less noisey, stops better and doesnt hurt the rotors...I dont wanna replace or resurface my rotors at all!!!So now it what kinda pads should I get???

I don't like hawks, but that's just me. I'm hard on brakes and they don't really perform to what I want. But for street use and not driving like an *** hole, you could just get the HPS or if you do drive like an *** hole HP+ is probably fine..

depends on your type of driving. Hawk pads are crap (IMO). HPS cause serious fade, and HP+s sound like your strangling a small dorf that hasnt hit puberty and is being simultaneously having his left nut being squeezed by vice grips....

okay maybe a little far on that one but you get the point. Sent you a PM btw. good luck

for a street car-

hawk ceramics work great, have nice torque, more progessive than stock, and are inexpensive!
