Filling your tires with nitrogen instead of "air" (which is already 70% nitrogen) is a profit-driven scam.

Think alot of guys have been recommending the Blizzaks for heavy snow driving. Last winter I just used a set of Conti DWS all-seasons, and they worked perfectly in everything up to an inch or two of snow. Didn't try them out in any of the heavy stuff though.. I try to stay off the roads when it gets too nasty =)

I love my Blizzaks. Great longitudinal grip and above-average lateral. Graspics are the only other snow tire that I'd tried that comes close.

As to nitrogen, the key is that it is dry, not that it doesn't have oxygen and hydrogen in it. If you can find a place that only uses dry air to fill tires, that's as good as nitrogen, really.

I have literally driven in 16 inches of snow with my Blizzak's with out a sweat. In heavy stuff Blizzak is awesome.

I've plowed a nice path with the nose of my VIII on blizzaks. I would say it was 12-14" and had only about 6 " of ground clearance, do the math, lol. They truly are amazing on the evo in snow.

I usually run my 140 treadwear RS3s in the snow, they work amazingly.

My Blizzak WS-70s made it through everything that last year's New England winter dished out. Several storms about 12", one at 30". I was driving through 8-10" on unplowed back roads routinely and having a blast..

I would love to order winter tires as a seperate set, but not having a garage the only way to keep them would be in my backyard in a tarp or something, would the heat mess them up from the following spring/summer?

Wow. I'd be getting my Tommi Mäkinen on every morning!
