wheel balancing weights

wheel balancing weights

can the wheel balance weights found on the outside of the rim on the stock gsr be placed on the inside or somewhere else ? doesnt look like there is a whole lot of clearance between the brakes and rim ? ive just painted mine black and dont want them to go back on the out side

Yeah you can place them on the inside of the rim but they're not the clip kind that you probably have, they just sort of stick on on the inside of the rim.

Take the clip ones off ASAP, my dealer ****ed me over and cheaped out on the balancing weights and they ended up scratching my rims... I was so mad.

thanks for the reply i guess it a job for the tyre place then.

i know what you mean mine had marks on the rim from where weights once were (even though i bought it with only 4 miles on it) when i took the existing clip ones off it really is almost impossible not to scratch the rim a little.

For those with after market wheels, does the sticky weights look ugly from the outside, are they noticeable?

Nah they're far less noticeable than the clip ons.

they make clip on or sticky weights. either can be "static balanced" where the weights are only on the inside of the wheel.
