Take it from me I was in the same situation as you last year didnt really have the money to throw around for snow tires decided to wait and see what it was like the first snow storm. We got about 2 inches took it out and i thought it was fine (snow just fell ground wasnt that cold) get up the next morning couldnt even control the car to the end of the block had to lock to either side at least 4 times before I got down to the end of the road. Drove back to my house and didnt drive it till my Blizzacks came in. Also to be honest I wouldnt cheap out on snow tires either I got my blizzacks for I think 800 or 900 best investment you wouldnt event think you were driving in snow with those on. Trust me AWD + snow tires + snow= a **** ton of fun. Get the snow tires itll cost you more not to because you will prob end up crashing even in really cold weather the stocks are dangerous.

my tires including studs only cost 850.00 incl mount and balance incl tpms sensors, the blizac ws60's + shipping off tire rack was quoted as 1013.02.. and my tires are sick!@! kumho KW22
