solution to TPMS issue
solution to TPMS issue
The solution is so darned simple; the question is whether we can get a company (such as VDO) to make the parts.
Buy multiple sensors that use the same ID.
If I had four sets of sensors, each set with four unique IDs, but the same four IDs across sets, then I could have four sets of wheels/tires and never need a recode.
Someone make this happen. If it requires voting for a libertarian to get some federal regulation removed, I might even go that far.

lol this is the same thing we've been waiting for orange electronic to do in the other thread for about 2 or 3 years.
They sell blank programmable sensors but they don't currently support our type

When i am racing and i have too look that stupid TPMS warning on my screen. It is hillarious . LOL
Next year i will get a some race dash screen so it will go away finally.

The problem with Orange's approach - besides the fact that it's still vaporware - is the need for an expensive tool that you will rarely use. My approach says "to heck with tools!"
Now, if Orange would allow us to send them one set of sensors and they send us back three more sets that have been coded to the same IDs, then, OK, since that's the same as I'm asking for. Maybe they'll do this....

Here is what I have ordered. $200 plus the cost of the 4 sensors. Web based so never any need to update the tool. According to their chart they have sensor coverage for "ALL" 2008-2011 Lancers. All you need is your 4 sensor id's whether you get them from an obd scantool, tpms tool or manually breaking down the tire. Should have everything in a few days and hopefully be able to confirm that we have another possibility................

Which sensor was it for our cars? (the RS1 with the ball joint?) Also, did you have to specify the freqeuncy for the sensor when ordering?
I tried looking for the stuff on the haltec website and couldn't find it, and i looked on the myers website and found the tool but it said I have to register to see the price...gotta love horrible websites.

I looks like you have to buy the sensors and valves in parts and then put them together. How much did all the stuff for the sensors cost?

SUCCESS! "sens-it" is a go. Programmed 4 sensors for my car yesterday and my idiot lights went off in an 1/8 of a mile. Full comminucation looking at sensor data through the OBD port. Going to start a thread at some point with pics and info.
Nice! link the thread in here once you create it.
