Which Winter Tire
For the Blizzaks did you get the WS or LM? WS is great for snow but not as good on dry pavement and LM's are great on dry pavement but are still better or as good as good as high quality all seasons in the snow. Tire rack distinguishes the WS as a snow tire and LM as a winter tire. Only people that should be getting WS are the ones that live in areas where it snows a lot and it doesnt get plowed regularly.
So after reading all the posts I have decided to go for the Nokian.

I put Dunlop 3D 235/45/17 on a second set of stock rims (take offs) for my wife's A4. Very nice winter performance tire for these central Michigan winters. Ran older WS-50 Blizzaks on my car this winter, and worked well, but are softer, and don't expect them to last nearly as long.

Nokian are serious snows. If I was up in Canada again, I'd rock the most aggressive snow I could (actually do that here in OH too...did that and of course we had no snow...).
I've ran these in the STI and the EVO. LOVE them!

Yeah I don't think you'll be disappointed. I got the Blizzak LM-60's and they have been great. In Chicago it didnt snow much at all so the tires saw mostly dry pavement which is what I expected because even when it does snow a lot, the roads are usually clear within a day in the city. But they were great during the 3 or so small storms that we did have. I DD'd my car all winter and they still have PLENTY of tread left. Great grip and no noticeable tire noise so I'm pretty happy so far.
Dunlop wintersport M3 here. I went with 235/45 on stock rims.
This tire is geared more towards dry performance than an all out snow tire, but that works for me as even here in ottawa the roads are plowed and bare 90% of the time.
Second winter now and lots of tread left.

I used conti extreme DWS (Dry/Wet/Snow) on my car in the winter here in KY. Decent in snow and ice, good when the winter was gone too. Very reasonably priced and highly rated. I put 245/40-18's on my stock wheels. Good all season to not wear down your summer tires as well. Wait for the right time, and tire rack has some sort of sale or offer usually as well.
