I think - at least, I hope - that he or she was being sarcastic. I, for one, took it that way and appreciated it.

LOL!

That's the first place I looked...

I got a response back from WheelDude and they have no ETA on any other colors besides gold and titanium chrome.

Gotta love the wheel snobs... I see plenty of track cars running rotas. If they're good enough for them, then they're good enough for you.

While we are talking wheels, I am just curious what are the downsides to Rota? I was looking at Advans but way too much for me now since I want to concentrate on exhaust, tune, IC and such but my stock tires at at 14k and are getting close to needing replaced. I started looking at wider tires but many say don't put them on the 8.5 stock wheels, that led me to the Advans RS but out of my budget now. Then I found the Rota G force 18x9 and 18x10 not sure yet, but with the 25 offset for under a grand. I know you get what you pay for but beyond that, are they just crap compared to the higher doller wheels or are they crap where they are going to crack or make the car handle worse? Sorry, have only been in the Evo world for about 8 months, yes I did 14k miles in about 8 months, I have no idea how other than I love to drive. I was thinking about powder coating the stock but with the price of the Rota's especially if I can find them used, it makes more sense to buy them so I don't have to be without my car while they powder coat and I can get the better offset and size tire I want. Thanks and if there is a good discussion on this already, point me in the direction. Google didn't help me too much this time.

You are opening up a can of worms in the wrong thread..... Do a search...You'll figure it out real quick.

Cliff notes version is as follows: People hate on ROTAs because they copy most popular designs and put their label on it and for a far cheaper price. Also, there are those that believe the quality of ROTA wheels are far inferior to those made by say, Volk or CCW or WORKS. This is where you can search and read up on more if you like....

I'm with onelessdigit, and I quote "Gotta love the wheel snobs... I see plenty of track cars running rotas. If they're good enough for them, then they're good enough for you."

I own a set of SVNs for my 8. Not a problem to report.... Many race with ROTAs and drag with them and auto x with them.

You also see people track-racing Yugos ( e.g., http://jalopnik.com/5885977/yes-a-yu...-track-machine ), so, by your logic, the Evo, itself, was overkill.

Good enough for me. Thanks a lot. Thats what I figured just wanted to see if there was more to it. But don't want to start another war.
