Ohlins DFV

Hi Guys,

I have just purchased a set of Ohlins DFV coilovers off my mate who only had them on his car for 2,000km's. He took them off because the rear's were apparently noisy. He said it has to do with the rear camber plates (metal on metal).

Question is, how do i get rid of these noises?? can i put a thin layer of rubber between the camberplate and my chasis??

Thanks alot.

Noisy? When do they cause noise? Have you heard it? Can you inspect the camber plate and see where it is rubbing? You could try a thin sheet of plastic or Teflon (better than rubber) but it is hard to say without looking at the camber plates directly. We had some rubbing issues with our front KMac plates and ended up welding in a different spacer system, essentially redesigning the plates to work more effectively. You might take them to a shop and get their perspective.

Just one problem, pretty sure there are no "camber plates" in the rear (metal on metal) or not.

Please post a picture of a rear camber plate on an evo. I'm curious to know how that will work with only 1 bolt on the bottom of the shock and no connection to the knuckle.

You'll want to make sure the spring perch along with the bottom locking ring are very snug. Use a screwdriver and hammer. You'll also want to make sure the spring isolator is in good shape. That's the rubber or plastic piece between the spring and the top shock mount. Good luck!
