Stock enkies vs rpf1?

This is a question for the guys that went from the stock enkies to rpf1.im trying to get some 18x9.75 +15 , they weight 18 poinds each saving 3 pounds of rotational weight which translates to around 240 pounds of total vehicle weight. Now the question is did you guys felt a performance difference ? Does the car feel more responsive at all? I did a swap like that with my previous car from 18x9 to 16x7 even tou i didnt weight the wheels you can imagine the diference was huge and the car felt much faster but if thats not the case with the rpf1 i might just get something else , my car is a DD but performance is my main concern even tou the car might never see a track thx in advance for your help

You won't feel any difference since RPF1 don't come in 9.75 width.

But to help you out. I switched from stock Enkei's to TE37SL 9.5+22 and didn't feel a difference at all.

I went from stock GSR Enkeis and 1-pc front brakes rotors to MR BBS and 2-pc brake rotors at the same time and it was noticeable. That's 20 lbs total rotational savings at once though, definitely a bigger change than you're looking at.

The real difference is not much. Yes the rotational weight is less. which means you could accelerate faster or brake faster. but the difference is small. and varied.

Typically 19>18>17 in terms of weight so keep that in mind.

For example of you have 2 lbs off the wheels but that is mainly in the spokes at the center of the hub then the difference at the rim is negligble so very little there

Another example is if you get wheels that are 3 lbs lighter but the new tires are actually heavier by 2 lbs ( ie ZII ) You might actually have a rotational weight penalty as the weight again is out at the edges.

If you take of 3 lbs in the wheels and go with a lighter stickier tire that sheds 2 lbs then yes you will notice a difference in how the car revs. But it is still subtle and not an OMG thing

My opinion is get the best grip tire, proper rim width, and dont worry about it

^well sai Milburn. Rpf1 only comes in 9.5 or 10.5. They are light indeed but putting a tire on them that fits properly will negate the weight savings and probably bring you back to stock weight or perhaps a little heavier. Upside is now you have an extra 20mm of tire under each corner. I can tell you going from my stock wheels/tires to rpf1 9.5/PSS 265 I noticed no difference in accel or decel but tire is much meatier and wheel looks much better with the +15 offset. Grip and road noise are better too.

don't forget about the tires, going to a wider tire puts more weight on the outer most part of the rotational mass, where it matters most. and tire weights, even for the same size can vary a bit too.

i went from stock gsr setup to rpf1 in 18x9.5 with stock sized tires and upgraded my rotors to the mr 2pc on the same day and i felt a different right away. the car seems to take off from stop easier and the steering feels more responsive. my friend with the heavy rotas with 275 tires and gsr rotors noticed it as well.

technically, your car will get slower but i doubt it'll make any real world difference. i'll bet you won't even notice the difference.

It does make a difference in Motorsport. I felt a difference when I got lighter wheels and tested them out in Auto-X.
