Blizzaks smell
Blizzaks smell
About 300 miles ago I got some blizzaks put on for the winter. I also got the clutch recall done about the same time.
I have noticed that after driving for a bit, I get the smell of burning rubber in the car (if the heater is running).
Now, the temps here in Jersey have been around 35 - 45 right now so wondering if it is just the tires. My last winter tires were the pirellis. Do you guys think it is the soft compound that smells from heating up? No issues with the car otherwise.

thanks...the smell is pretty much gone if I only drive a 1/2 hour but my hour commute I smell it at the end. I may head back to the dealer (though my local dealer is now closing so have to find a new one) but i think it just may be the soft compound heating up if I am taking turns hard.
If you want closure on this, check your cabin air-filter. Once you turn the heat on, little nasties on the filter start making smells. In my experience, a majority of funny smells that first occur in the fall are from this.
