HSD coilovers

Hi

I just installed hsd coilovers and there is a ding sound everytime i turn. I can also turn the coil spring with my bare hand.

Pls help

does it sound like its coming from one side or both sides sound like they are binding up?

Are the spring supposed to be tight or it can be twisted easily?

I'm not positive, but it sounds like your preload is not set correctly. At least on the one making the noise. And you should not be able to turn the spring by hand.

Pre-loading a front spring on a car that is only driven on tarmac is highly over-rated. Just focus on having the total travel balanced between bump and rebound. As to the click, I would start by looking at the top-mount. Even some of the aftermarket versions aren't so great (and the OE tops are pieces of junk). With that said, I agree that it's more likely to be the spring, which might need a Torrington bearing.
