Smile 25mm spacers and rubbing

So here's the deal. I bought and installed some Ichiba 25mm spacers and love the way it looks.
Also I have already installed Michelin Pilot SS 255/40/18. Large. Obviously I am rubbing.
But not bad enough to take them off. LOL. You know I should. I already ripped off a mud flap. Don't like them anyway. But that being said it really doesn't rub unless I go over a large bump and rub when coming back down. Not much, but annoying.

My question is can I eliminate this with Swift Spec R springs?
Lowering and stiffening so that it doesn't rebound so much.

My guess is that lowering 1 inch in the rear and stiffening up the spring will not eliminate this problem.

Also it's a DD. Will it kill the ride?

Thanks

Where are you rubbing? The fronts only? Front and rear?

I have Swift Sport springs, and my wheels/tires are 255/40-18, on 18x9 +28 wheels. Assuming you're on stock wheels with +25 spacers, your wheels are pushed out about 9mm further than mine are. That said, I rub the front inner splash liners when near full lock. That said, I doubt lowering your car would help the rubbing.

My plan to fix my rubbing problem....heat gun and a wooden spoon to "persuade" the fender liner in a little bit

Yup, heat gun, some water in a spray bottle, and a rubber mallet is what I used (because the mallet had a good size head on it).

FWIW, I am using 25mm spacers on stock rim with stock tire sizes (conti DSWs right now). On coilovers with a moderate drop, I was rubbing the front liners and the inside liners a bit. The inside liners are very easily molded with the above method. The front liners are a bit harder to get a nice clean look (which I didn't care about because you'll almost never see it). It is easy to find out which area in the front you are rubbing on and just cut it out with a knife. If you do have a head gun already... heat that area up and remove it, or carefully trim the vents.

25mm spacers

Because you are on 35 series tires you might be ok. I believe the difference is 40 series = 26" diameter and 35 series = 25" diameter.

But I would go with the 20mm just to be safe and not rub at all.

I have some 25mm Ichiba V2 spacers for sale if you want to go 25's. The 1 inch difference may be all you need.

Good luck and let me know.

Are they still for sale? I'm kind of interested. How much did you want for them?
