Wider Wheels With Tein S-Tech
Wider Wheels With Tein S-Tech
Anyone running wider wheels than stock with Tein S-tech's?
I have 8" wide wheels now and looking to go to a 9.5" wide wheel. Wasn't sure if anyone has this set up or not.
If you do, is there any rubbing or did you have to roll your fenders?

i dont have this exact setup but im lowered on springs and with a 9.5 wide wheel as well, it depends on tire size and offset of the wheels. i did not have to roll my fenders at all but my springs did not drop me that much, so it depends how low you are and tire size, most of the time you will have to roll the rear fenders.
I was reading a lot on this subject as well recently.
I am currently running rpf1 18x9.5 et 15 , wrapped with hankook v12 255/35/18r, car is dropped on swift spec r.
I never rubbed once with street driving and spirited driving.
But hankook v12 runs a little narrower from what I read.
I am still planning to do a mild roll though, cuz I am planning to do track and some canyon roads.
I'd suggest a 9.5 with 22 -25 offset though, I mean, I love how RPF1 looks and it kind of gives the car wide-body-ish look. But I think if you go a higher offset, you can fit a bigger tire with less work.
But if you are looking at the same wheel I have:
Here is what I gathered for you:
245/40/18, no rub
255/35/18, might rub depending the design of the tire, I never rubbed though.
265/35/18, I heard most ppl had to modify the rear fender.

Waiting on better weather here in PA before I do anything.
Have a set of wheels lined up that my brother in law has from his STI before he traded it in. Going to see how they fit up before I buy them.
When I test fit I'll post some pictures for reference.
