Reviews don't seem as good on those and it wasn't even one of the pads he said anything about. Also I think they are less aggressive than the SS. I think the magic pad were designed more for people that are concerned with brake dust and noise.

DD Magic pads scary when wet/snow
What I noticed on the magic pads is they don't stop immediately in the rain.

I love CL and PFC pads for racing and i do recommend those only. On street i am fine with stock pads.

Also when you buy rotors my suggestion is always contact with the manufacturer and ask what type of compound or type of pads they recommend for that rotor.

that never hurts.

As you found out, any proper track pad will be crazy abrasive if not up to temp. ST43's are the longest lasting track pads i know of (on track). Though girodisc calls these pads "intermediate", don't be fooled. They are a full blown track pad, and their intermediate qualities are only in comparison to insane pads that are designed for tree trunk sized racing slicks.


I can also give a +1 to Carbone Lorraine brakes. For any serious use, i'd only consider Raybestos, CL, and carbotech, with Carbotech being my least favorite mainly due to pad life. Other than that, girodisc S/S pads will serve you very well on the street.
