Coilover choice?

What's up everyone! Just picked up my 15 GSR, and was wondering what everyone though a good set of coils would be? I don't know many people around me with Evos so I can't get any solid info. Someone told me about a set of HKS Hipermax, but I don't know. What do you guys think?

I have a set of KW V3's, have them for about 2+ years now. Good for daily driving and a little autox.

However you'll need to use stock top hats so that limits your adjustability in the front wheels.

My setup is not too aggressive so flipping the camber bolts suffice.

For the best bang for buck, Fortune 500s w/ Swift upgrade.

I agree w the guy above me. I run the Fortune Auto 500 DSG edition. They have the swift springs and extremely happy with the price tag for them.

What are you actually gonna do with your evo? just daily driving, dedicated track car, or something in between?

All depends on what you're doing with your car... Do you track it? Auto X? How often? Have to take everything into consideration.

I can only comment on what I have, and that's Ohlins R&T. They are at what I consider the price break between "cheap" and "expensive" at around $2,500-$3,000. Still somewhat affordable.

The shock valving is high quality and can apparently accept a range of spring rates (although they come with 10kg/mm front 7kg/mm rear). They also come with nice camber plates up front that will allow for a wide range of alignment adjustments.

I weighed the parts before and after and it dropped 19.2lbs in weight (I suspect all coilovers are similar)

If you are looking in the $2-3k price range this would be what I recommend. You can also go to Muellerized and have them customized and pre-assembled for a little extra.

I'm saving for Ohlins myself. Got a set of Fortune 500 coils on my wife's RA Sportback and they are really nice but if I'm going to take the plunge, it's going to be Ohlins.

if you have money get the Ohlins they are track coils that rides great on the street, if not KW V3s are amazing for the price point the KWV3s are Street coils that works for track

I love my KWV3s but when im at the track i wish i have Ohlins... but i only go to the track 2-3 times a year.... so KWv3s are fine for me
