Titanium Brake Pad Shims

I'm trying to avoid (well, slightly delay to be realistic...) building brake ducts for my Evo. There are a few things I can do to manage heat on the track, this post is about titanium brake pad shims.

After some research I found that there are not many options:
  • Girodisc - "TS-1001-4" for front is pretty straightforward but the rear part is confusing. I found "TS-0961-4" for rear but looks like it's for Evo IX and before.
  • EBC - "SH1210" is pretty good looking but I only saw it in UK online shops so far, not US. Also it's front only.
  • Paragon - "PPS.0370.01.050" is 0.5mm thick and available. Front only though.
  • Yperion - no website or product number. They make 0.8mm front and 0.6mm rear for a reasonable price, quality looks very good. Sounds like a no brainer but they are located in Russia...
Any thoughts or advice? Has anyone had titanium shipped from Russia recently? Do I even need rear shims, would there be any real benefit? If rear would be beneficial does anyone have suggestions?

According to girodisk, this is the part number for the rear: TS-0961-4

I run the Giro Disk Ti. Usually with whatever comes on the pad. I am just running Brembo Ceramics for street use. WIth the GD shims and the red shim everything fits. I would cut the corners on the shims for the wear indicator fingers. A small dremel cut off wheel will work. On those pads the unused rivet can be too tall on one corner so you may need to cut both of the rear shim corners. They don't rust or wear. The entire stack will fit the caliper, but it is a little tight.

I got those from MAP recently.
Maybe you could extend the air guides under the car like I did

Are you finding your rear brakes are getting worked enough to need Ti shims? I'm just curious. I have a ct9a and my brakes don't work quite hard enough for any cooling measures. Maybe that's why there's not many options for the rear....?

kaj - that was my though process exactly, if EBC only makes rear for higher performance cars then my Evo probably doesn't need it... Unfortunately I don't have data to support it. But I have had brake issues before on track and since I'm buying the front ones I thought having rear too wouldn't hurt. Fingers crossed I'll actually receive them from Yperion.

We don't use much data for our brakes. We're going by wear rates and signs of heat.
In your case, I believe the Xs nannies use the brakes to work...? I'm trying to remember...
Have you been running with any driving aides on?
And we VIII/IX guys are over here trying to keep heat IN our rear pads😂

Just wanted to let everyone know that I received the titanium brake pad shims from Yperion Titanium today. It took exactly one month to get here but I was able to track the package all the way, there were no problems at all with shipping.
I'm waiting for my Ohlins coilovers to arrive from Works Motorsports hopefully next week, I'll install everything at once with new rotors and pads and test everything on Sept. 16th at TGPR before the time trials at Road Atlanta.
They look really good!

0.8mm front, 0.6mm rear. It got here in a month, I was able to track the shipment all the way and communication with them was great.
I had two track events with them (SCCA time trials at Road Atlanta, track day at TGPR) and I had no issues with the brakes.
