Has anyone done any mods to make their front plates look more flush like behind the grills or anything similar? In my country you must have plates and it must be mounted on the front bumper or some where near it(not behind the windshield). If you have seen or done any mods to make it not stick out as much then please share some ideas.

 

I put the smoke cover from PepBoys on it and makes a hell of a differnce......I know some say just take it off it is ugly...i agree, but I dont need to get bothered by cops for a front plate, so at least the smoke look, looks good and Custom...and is only 3.99

You cant put it behimd the grills because you would have to cover up the intercooler.

 

since its already there, u might as well keep it there... the most annoying tickets ive goten have been no front plates.. not worth the time and effort to have to goto court and do a fix it ticket..

 

back plates also make the car ugly - what we gonna do !

 

Thank god i live in Fl.! Whats the purpose of a mandatory front plate anyway? Is it the same as the back plate?

DON'T put a plate on!!

 

i owned my car for less than a day b4 i took that ugly monstrous contraption off my car! My front plate stays in the car, under the floormat. This way, if i get stopped, i can throw it on the dash. Soon I'll be in Miami, as you FLA peeps know, no front plate necessary. cool.

You've gotten away with that?? Geez, I got read the riot act about it being Illegal, and then dangerous (according to the cop it could decapitate a passenger if the car is rear-ended ROFL)
NY State does require a front plate too, but I've never seen any specific guidelines to WHERE..

Your right, I hate having the front plate.. But when I first got the car, I literally got three tickets in a month for no front plate.. After driving cars for years (including a red corvette and a 97 Z28..) and never getting a ticket I just figured it was something that nobody cared about.. Definitely some excuse to get "Ricer" Harassment..

 

theres a thread on here that mentioned something about the front license plate is not neccesary in 2005.

 

I have mine in my dash still ugly but not near as bad as on the front of the car plus its not quite as illegal...

 

the front license place does not make the car look ugly. it's actually quite nice looking because of its placement and angle, in my opinion. i DO know that the front license place makes the car look legal, though.

out here in SoCal no license plate = fix it ticket. When I had my mustang I didnt put on the front license plate and imust of been pulled over at least 5 times for that. Then they inspect your car and write you up for after market products.....it was such a pain. I kept the license plate on my evo and despite having my windows tinted, hks exhaust with HKS hiper sticker on bumper and lower suspension i havent been pulled over yet.......
