Question Gain in horse power

I put the Injen short ram intake on and the RRM axleback exhaust. Anyone have the stats or an estimate of how much horse power this might have added?

5-7 sounds about right. Short rams are good, but they heat up and on an N/A car they are not going to make any huge gains. It should also be said that the stock exhaust is pretty darn open to begin with. (of couse I will be changing mine, but thats beside the point). What i can say from personal experiance is that if you install RRM's piggyback ecu you will magnify gains from any mods that you have done and create a much faster car in general. I highly suggest looking into it.

Just a suggestion

You mean don't have one? The reason nobody has yet bothered to make a header for the MIVEC is that it already comes with a rather nice one that's pretty hard to improve upon.

What I think the car does need, though, is a bored throttle body (I'm sure we'll see one in a few months) and a better intake manifold.

still an aftermarket headers would make some hp over stock and yes a bored throttle-body would be very nice too.

the intake and exhaust heads could both use some porting. The design is good, but cast is UGLY. For what it costs to have the stocks ported, its just better to replace the dang thing. Wont have to have the car out of action to ship the header out to get done, and you get something thats more showy. I'm working on it and we may have some products on the market relatively soon.

as far as the original question goes, what else has been done to the car? this isnt gran turissmo and part A doesnt put out HP X. annoch had a good example of that /w the ECU (great buy). If you are stock, though, others have seen gains of about 15hp, give or take.....

AEM has a cold air kit and short ram coming out in about a couple months. I called AEM and they just got the dyno's done a couple of weeks ago. The CAI put down 12.6hp @ 5000rpm and 12.6tq @ 3700rpm. The Short Ram was 4.1hp @ 6200 and 3.9tq @ 5000. The CAI was much better it gained hp and it's tq from 2700rpm all the way up the RPM band.

VERY little, under 5 extra horses i'm guessing. Is buying a new header worth that?
Oh yeah, inline engine, it has one header.
