So about 3600 a year. Did it go up from your previous car? Im only 18, so i figured it wouldnt drop until im 21. Im just wondering cause i want to tell my father whos name it will be under that it is just as much as say a civic.

18, ... hell INS bill. Its gonna hit you hard unless you get some GOOD DISCOUNTS. I was quoted 350 a month and im 21, 1ticket, 1accident and I live in the dreaded southern california

So i got a ralli-art instead.

Leaving in socal alone will hit your insurance hard, cuz we have really really bad drivers.

25 with little to no tickets, 80$/mnth for my car, and 20$/mnth for my bike.. it completely depends on your area. Full coverage on both btw, 500$ deductable on the car and 250$ on the bike.

23, 1 reckless 2 tickets.... $85 full coverage.

some companies cover other drivers as long as they're given permission, so put it in someone else's name

It is a four door sedan. The cost to repair is well above average and insurance companies are adjusting rates up. The other consideration is the cost as compact 4 doors are much less expensive. I went over these things before I bought mine and was told to expect some adjustments as the car was new and the rates would reflect what the company has to pay out over time. I have had two increases since June of "03". My rate with State Farm for full coverage with $500 deductable is right at $60 per month. I live in rural Northern California, have a clean dmv, three vehicles and my homeowners with the same agent and have been a customer with SF for over 30 years. My agent informs me that my rate among the lowest this company offers. More than one collision in 8 years will double my rate other adjustments will occur if I accumulate any points on my driving record. Hope this helps.

You should call your insurance company and find out what your rate will be. That's the only way you will get an accurate estimate on insurance.

When I got quotes before buying my 2003 EVO, the cost of insurance on the EVO was pretty much the same as other cars I was looking at: Infiniti G35 Coupe, 2001 BMW 540i 6 speed, 2001 Mercedes CLK430, Honda S2000, etc.

It doesn't matter what our insurance comes out to. Call your insurance and find out exactly what it will cost YOU. That's all that matters.

Agreed. The cost variance between different providers will likely be dramatic.

Mine went up after 9 months of ownership, and it sure as hell went skyrocketing after my wreck a month later

You're going to get screwed at 18 bro. But in all cases, get a quote from various insurance companies and go from there.

Full coverage is running me $1750 for the year. In January I turn 25 so it'll go down considerably then. 1 ticket (not counted against me) and no accidents, no claims ever. I think in January the premium will get dropped down to under $1K. I can't wait.

Liberty Mutual had the lowest rates out there back in June - check them out.
