How to use the money??

I have a 500 check from my wife as an anniversary gift and I wanted the feedback from the forum on what to do with it. I have done nothing to my EVO except for head unit, speakers, amp, tint, and K&N drop-in. What would be the best performance mod I could do for $500? Please reply as I want some advice from those with much more experience than I.

If you're not going to do anything else for a while to the car, I'd say a boost controller, gauge and a basic Dynoflash or something like it. A little bit of tuning makes a world of difference!

put it in your savings account and save more $$ so you can get a turbo back exhaust =)

if you buy a good condition used catback and used boost controller, you can top that off with a mail-in dynoflash which will cost around 500 and have a gain of about 20-30whp easily....

Get an new cat back exhaust, or a used turbo back. A boost gauge too. Those mods are somewhat dealer friendly.

Guys great suggestions, am wondering with mail-in flash, dynoflash what happens when you go to the dealer for service? I'm not a mechanic so I have the dealer pretty much do everything to my car. Will they detect the tuning?

I think a mail-in flash is too premature on a bone stock EVO. If you want to add any performance mods, then you'll have to get reflashed. I definitely vote for an exhaust first.

Either a reflash/piggyback device (dealer unfriendly mod if found but hard to find) or a cat-back (possibly dealerfriendly). The question is how far do you want to go with your mods?
