Exclamation Evo MR?

New to site, and a couple of questions.

Hey everyone, I'm thinking about getting an Evo MR when my current car lease is up in 6 months and was wondering a few things:

On www.mitsubishicars.com there are very little differences listed between the Evo and the Evo MR. Yet in a review I read, the Evo MR was said to have slightly more HP due to a larger turbo, amongst many other things...

So which is true, the review? or the 'official' website?

Also, I like the idea of having a full 6 gears to run through on the MR as opposed to only 5 on the vanilla Evo's. But I also read the MR's were governed at 120 MPH. How difficult is it for a novice like myself to remove the governor? (is it even possible? cause i don't want to be limited to 120 in 4th gear as the review stated)

thank you in advance,

GB7

the hp is the same on all 05's, it was comparing to the 04 evo. The major changes are the bbs rims, six speed tranny, and the bilstein shocks. oh and the vortex generator, which can be opted for any model. The govoner I do not know about.

All '05 Evos are equipped with Acd, front helical diff and they all have the same engine. About the MR governed to 120MPH, havn't heard of that one. Who would get an Evo if it was governed at 120MPH...? Even a stock civic will zoom past an Evo at top speed.

Talking hmmm

Thanks for the info guys.

Can't remember where I read the review, I think it might have been IGN.com but i'm not sure. I'll look around further.

Anybody with an MR that can speak up and clarify?

Unhappy

So i repeat, can governors be removed by a novice like myself? Do i need to take it to a professional?

Can they even BE removed at all?

It's ridiculous to pay for 6 gears but only be able to use 4 (effectively).

there is no speed govenor, its made up. If there were, a simple flash would fix that.

Arnold is it's name...only in CA.

Actually, if they are now speed limited, a reflash will be able to take care of it. It is not like a helicopter, or any other vehicle with a physical governor that regulates the speed of the engine.

Usually it is a fuel cut at a certain speed.
