On break-in: The most important things to go easy on are the clutch, tranny, and brakes. Modern engines don't really need to wear in all that much. They key to breaking in the engine is making sure everything heat cycles properly. Don't load the engine too heavily, but gently take the rpms into the upper range to build up a little friction, create a little heat, and get everything heated up, then let the rpms gradually fall back down through engine breaking. Varrying the RPMs is the most important part of breaking in. DO NOT be hard on the clutch for at least 500miles, thats the most important thing to properly break in. Same deal for the brakes. I wouldn't reccomend putting a lot of stress or suddenly loading/unloading the drive-train for the first 500 miles or so, that will let the clutch/drivetrain break-in/heat cycle better. After 500 miles, you can start being a bit harder on the clutch/brakes, but personally I'd avoid really ripping on them for the first 1000miles or so. Realistically, the engine will be fully "broken in" after about 3-7 miles of driving, and will probably be fully heat-cycled inside of 20. It's the clutch and the brakes you have to be light on for the first 500-1000. You can slightly reduce the performance of those up by beating on them too hard initially, esp if you plan on braking/clutching hard in the future.
