Again, thanks for the replies. I am trading in my STi because it does not do it for me like the EVO does. When I drove the EVO I knew I chose the wrong car. The STi is great but I love the ride of the EVO much more. Sure, I can mod my STi and have it compare or even beat the EVO in handling but it is more than that. When I see an EVO on the road I get a warm, fuzzy feeling all over I do plan on modding the car but just EM and a TBE to start with. I'll have to do more research to see what is working well the car. TurboTrix is right around the corner from me so I am sure they will be of assistance. If anyone has more advice I would love to hear as I will continue to search and read up on owner reviews.

hi - where in NJ are you from? We have an Evo club (www.evo-ny.com) with almost 90 evo members in the metro tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) - there are a couple of MR's inthe club - and one that lives near me - we can arrange a test drive in his and my car just PM me when desired.

Later,

Joel
Thanks Joel. I really appreciate it and I will be in touch. I am about 20 minutes from Clifton so its no big deal.

I think over the long run, the mr will hold it's value better-but i got a gsr ssl for myself instead of the mr cause i wanted moonroof and leather.
Leather, huh? I will have to search and look for some pics. I am really not concerned about leather and a moonroof but it is a nice option to have.

If you want cruise control- get the sti- i still wish i could get cruise control for the 1% of the time when i'm not driving fast.
Well I already have the STi and I have not even used the cruise control. Anyone that lives in Jersey knows about the traffic and to go in and out of it you can not use cruise control.

I found a place in NJ today that let me test drive the MR so I took a ride down there and tested the GSR aong with the MR. Make a long story short I am going with the GSR. Is 32.5k (including taxes/MV fees/etc) a good price for the 05' GSR with the SSL package? I thought the MSRP was 30.5k? It said 31.4K on the sticker?

Get the MR!! I have had mine now for almost a week and a half. It is Graphite Grey. My brother in law has an 03 evo. The MR is a lot more forgiving on long drives and the sixth gear is especially nice. Plus, its the fact that the MR is going to be so rare, even more so that the base evo model. If you can swing it get the MR.

trading sti for evo huh. to me the idea sounds crazy, but then again i have made crazier decisions in my life. before i got the evo i really really wanted the sti instead because i always wanted a wrx. but the subaru dealership is full of jerk offs who wouldnt give me a time of day to talk numbers.. mitsubishi was more welcoming and ultimately sold me an evo. i used to get that "warm fuzzy feeling" everytime i saw an sti on the road. something about the way it looked with the rims and the way the boxer engine growls always attracted me. ive only gotten one chance to ever sit behind the wheel of an sti and drive it and i must say i couldnt wait to get back in my evo.
