Trading in STi for EVO or MR?

Hello,

I have a couple of quick question's for everyone here and hopefully they can be answered.

After driving the EVO a couple of months ago I have not stopped thinking about how much I enjoyed the car. I love my STi but I have decided to trade it in for an EVO. Is the MR worth the extra $$$ or should I stick with the standard EVO. I can not test drive the MR so I am hoping someone here that has driven both can tell me the differences if any and pros/cons. I know some of the differences like six speed, blistein dampers, lightweight aluminum roof/hood but I want to know how the car drives compared to the standard EVO. I do not think you would notice that much of a change but I could be wrong. Thanks guy's and hopefully I will be part of the family soon.

In MR you'll not feel as stiff as in reg. EVO. The six-speed box is a little smoother but taller (similar to STi). Overall, the MR feels a little more refined compare to my 03 EVO (I own both).
Sometimes, I like the raw and stiffness of my 03 EVO. But there're other times that I prefer the smooth ride of the MR (long distance travel with others). You can't really go wrong with either of them, but for 2-3k more, get the MR. It's rare.

I love my MR over the old 03 my dad owns. It just looks better and I like the attention the MR gets. On serious note I like the wheels and the six speed ride alot better too. Honestly if you can swing the extra couple of grand I say go for it. If not stick with standered, I think performance its going to be a personal pref if you want one or the other man. Stricly proformance I dont think you will be any happier with the MR over say the RS, but if you like the looks and status then the MR is just right.

I think its great to have the only one in town.

Thanks for the replies guy's. After searching around I have found mixed reviews. I guess I will keep doing my homework and maybe find somewhere that will let me take it for a spin.

hi - where in NJ are you from? We have an Evo club (www.evo-ny.com) with almost 90 evo members in the metro tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) - there are a couple of MR's inthe club - and one that lives near me - we can arrange a test drive in his and my car just PM me when desired.

Later,

Joel

Do you plan on modding your EVO? If so get a regular EVO, a few grand can buy some nice mods! If you plan on leaving it stock then get the MR...unless money is no object...
Then mod the MR!

Also not sure if I should ask here but why are you punting the STI?
