2003, 2004, 2005.....newb questions probably
Well, I just moved to the bay area from Canada. Looking to trade in my pontiac grand prix GTP. I've loved it since I had it and its gonna kill me to trade it in, but its time for a change. There are several cars I'm considering, but the fact that the EVO is something we couldn't get back in canada, it's at the top of my list!
I went to the dealership this past weekend and got little to none of my questions answered. I've searched the forum and will continue to search the forum, but I was hoping that if I put these easy questions out there that I'll find the answers quickly from a "guru". I never planned on moving to the bay, nevermind getting an evo, so I haven't really kept up with the news about them.
2003,2004,2005 what were the changes?
All i've heard from the dealer was that there were little to no changes between 2003 and 2004 but the 2005s get the front limited slip diff and the advanced center differential, the gauge cluster below the stereo and a slightly larger turbo.
Were there any changes between 2003 and 2004?
I'm not really in the market for an MR but I understand that these are the changes...am I missing anything:
-same things as the "GSR" mentioned above
-aluminum roof in addition to the hood (that the GSR has)
-lighter BBS wheels
-6speed
-bilstein shocks that are "softer" than the other evos
-vortex generators
Do all the evo's get HIDs? From the website it seemed as though only EVOs with the SSL package came with HIDs. (And the MR which specifically states that)
Were you able to get a sunroof and not get the leather package? Or were they only sold with the SSL?
What do people think of the leather? Does it have sufficient quality? Does it look okay on the sport seats? Anyone have pictures?
Do the EVO's come with a factory installed alarm or is that something I'm going to have to worry about?
Finally....any common knowledge problems with them yet? Obviously I the dealer wasn't willing to let me know any. I've heard the clutch's seem to wear quickly and the inherent problem of having a high performance car on warranty.
