Leather option?
Leather option?
I got a call from the dealership to come and have a look at an Evo VIII they have down there at the moment with the leather option (I first looked at the car with cloth).
After seeing leather now, I feel a definite lean towards it... But don't know how practical it could be.
The dealership has ordered a silver one with leather, and a silver one with cloth. Then I get first pick of the interior out of the two.
Is the leather worth the extra AUD$3000, or no? Any input guys?

I believe that leather is part of a package deal on the '05's its not just 3000$ for the leather it includes the infiniti sound system, the sunroof and the HID headlamps as well
Im planning on getting this package on my next evolution i buy sometime next year

the 04's have only the option to have sun and sound, i didnt get it cause i am pretty tall and the sunroof lowers the headroom. i wish i had it though, and wouldnt mind the sound, but the leather, no thanks. it just didnt work for me. in 03 the options were different i think.

I would say depends on the car's purpose... If you buy the car to race in the cloth is much better. If you want a car to comute in and use for freeway driving (not sure why you would pick an Evo in this case) then leather would be a good way to go...
Personally I prefer the cloth because the Evo is a rally car not a luxury car and as far as the S&S package Stock stereo always gets taken out right after I buy a car anyway.

well if you race...and get the 4pt harness...i don't think it would really matter what type of seat you have...Ferrari's come with leather
either way, both type of seat are super comfy!

all 2003 and 2004 evos have hid's. 2004's came with Sun, Sound and leather, meaning the sunroof, 315 watt 6 speaker system with subwoofer, and black leather recaros. for 2005 hid's are not standard anymore. the 2005 evo rs does not come with hid's under any circumstances, the 2005 evo gsr comes standard with cloth, no sunroof, and no hid's. if you buy the sun sound and leather package you get the sunroof, leather and hid's. so for 3120$ you get all of that stuff which isnt a bad deal.
and you definitely dont slide off of the leather seats with that much power, if that was the case their would be alot of unhappy ferrari owners

and the leather gives a feeling of upscale. For me, yeah it's worth it. But for leather only for that much, i don't know, maybe not. It's your car, ultimately you'll have have to choose whatever makes you happy more.SUBTLE and EVO doesn't quite add up.......
