I would go for the Evo.. there a good chance it's gonna be really hard to find a r32 that's not been complete beat to death. if you could come across a mint condition one. that would be ok. but other wise I would have to go with the evo. it's less likely to have been beatin and molested.

I agree with boostfed get the Evo unless you can find an R32 in really good shape in that case I would get the R32 just cause its different its not what everyone else has and it has more tuning potential than the Evo8

I was in the same boat as you about a year and a half ago. I had a 1992 R32 GT-R waiting for me. Mitsu finally decided that the Evo was comming to the US for sure, so I backed off of the Skyline and went with the Evo.
The main reasons I went with the Evo:
- Brand loyalty. I had owned 2 Eclipse GSX's before I bought the Evo. There's just something about turbo, all wheel drive, and that wonderful 4G63.
- Easy to find parts for. Walk in to a Nissan dealership and ask for a set of main bearings for a RB26DETT. Now go to a Mitsu dealership and ask for some for the 4G63 found in an Evo.
- Turnkey. I would have had to wait about 3 to 6 months while the Skyline was converted to meet DOT, NHTSA, EPA, and every other acronym's standards and regulations.
- Practicality. Sure, a Skyline is a "dream" car for most, but an Evo can be one, too. The Evo just does it with 4 doors.
I had lusted over both of these cars for years, wishing they would come to the US. Finally, the Evo did. I have no regrets.
Of course, you live in Australia, so they are both readily available for you.
Lucky bastid!
