Hello!
What's going on Evo peoples? I've been lurking for awhile and I just registered in October. I have a buddy with an Evo that I've been helping to work on. I have a huge passion for the Evo, so this is why I'm here. ALSO, I have a turbocharged Nissan Sentra.
Anyways, I'm doing some research on various forums about the HKS EIDS system. The search function has been great, but one question I wanted to ask was that did the EIDS setup help with backfire? I know the stalling issue has been mostly taken cared of, but my big issue is I'm running a Greddy Type S recirculated but I can't get it adjusted to save the life of me, so I'm getting surge. When I had it VTA, it idled perfect, but as most of you know, I had idle problems during decel and ran rich. Plus, I have a high flow cat and after I ran it VTA for a day, the backfire is coming straight from the cat with very bad smells coming from it(I don't want to toast my cat). Another big option for me is to convert to a blow through MAF setup that would allow me to VTA. I'm not going for sound, but I'm not getting a good feeling with the car recirculated with surge. I'm an active member at SR20 Forum, so I got a lot of really good info about this, but I'm looking to see if the EIDS system also reduces richness between shifts as well as just idle.
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, but since I'm a NOOB, maybe this was okay for you guys. Thanks in advance.
