New Ralliart owner
Well i just bought my new ralliart about two months ago and want to go NA maybe turbo later. But i dont know a thing about cars. I was just wondering what all people thought to start out with modding or upgrading?
Howdy and welcome to the group
There's a number of things to mod on our cars. The general consensus is to first get rid of the stock tires, they're horrid. Also, take some time to read around the Ralliart forums, go to the old posts and such, you'll learn a lot.
Take a trip over to www.roadracemotorsports.com and look around. They currently make the largest selection of parts for our cars.

I'm new also, but here's what I've learned:
1. Stock tires need to go. Wear em out and replace with better ones.
2. Air flow can be improved with a SRI or CAI (see RRM)
3. ECU can be improved with piggyback unit (also see RRM)
4. CAI + Exhaust + piggyback = 30 whp increase according to RRM dyno test
5. Exhaust alone MAY not improve performance. Apparently the downpipe is still restricitve enough to not allow an upgraded exhaust to help much. Replacing the downpipe will void warranty.
5. CAI and Exhaust will most likely NOT void warranty (check with dealer)
6. Better rear anti-sway bar should help with cornering
7. It's a great car and fun to drive!
The only things I've done to mine so far are to get the windows tinted and switch to a 50/50 synthetic/regular oil blend. Next on the list is to replace stock air filter with K&N or Kool Blue to increase flow. Possibly switch to CAI if new filter doesn't add much. Then add piggyback and possibly exhaust (mostly for sound and looks). By then should need new tires, and will probably get the rear anti-sway bar from RRM. Also going to upgrade spark plugs.
Rhys Millen also makes quality prodcuts for the Ralliart: http://www.rmrproducts.com/index2.html
Have fun!
also: Think about getting a radar detector. If you're like me, you'll need one. Best deal I've found so far is the Escort 8500 Passport X50. Performs as well as a Valentine for about $115 less.

i don't know why everybody says to "wear out the tires"
either replace them and throw them out or replace them and sell them..
no need to actively trying to "wear them out"
