Taking delivery today

I'm not much for introductions. I've been lurking here for a while now. Searching and trying to soak up as much info as possible before I take delvery of my new EVO.

Been a part of the DSM community since 98. I currently have a GVR4 and a 91 AWD Talon. I also had a 90 AWD Talon, 8 point cage, 20g, etc... that I just parted out. And was a moderator at DSMtalk for years before we shut it down. Looking forward to learning as much as I can here.

Anyway, I ordered a Black 05 EVO VIII without SSL last Saturday. The car still isn't here. I've gotten all kinds of lame excuses. They said it's on it's way here today. We'll see about that. Just waiting for the phone to ring, so they can tell me to come down and pick her up.

Yeah, I'll posts some as soon as I get the damn car. Doesn't seem like they're in a hurry to take my money. Oh wel, still waiting.

i know how you feel. i had a similar situation when i bought my 04 last august. i wanted the Tarmac and asked dealer if they had one. they said yeah, it just arrived. i went paid a deposit for it and asked to see it, they said it was still in a loading area. 2 days later, i get to see it. turns out, they had to go out and get the car from another dealer (i knew this cuz they forgot to remove the other dealers sticker). luckily, it only had 15 miles on it so i didnt make a big stink about it. it just sucked to get the run around for a day and a half.

Hey - just picked up my Graphite Gray MR today. Had the Blizzak LM-22's mounted and took off for a blast through the snow. It took me a month to decide between S4, STi and Evo. I studied everything to death. Let me save you all some time - For anyone wondering if they should buy the Evo, run, don't walk, to the Mitsu store and get your hands on one. I have owned a number of performance cars, but this blows them into the weeds (stock). Do yourself a BIG favor and get yours before they're gone! Gotta go try a little night driving...

Yeah, I basically hate all car dealers. Just a bunch of liars. They just called me now 6:45PM EST, the car is finally there. I'm just going to pick it up in the morning. Hell, I waited this long.

SSL? Does that stand for sunroof, sound & leather? Yea, good call... I wouldn't pay a few extra grand for that stuff either.

Yes, I am a lurker. Like to soak up as much info as possible. Being a moderator at other boards..... I know not to post stupid questions.

Well, I picked the car up this morning with 20 miles on it. One small problem, hopefully you guys have heard of this before. There is one spot on the hood, the clear coat is almost bulbbled. It's not raised too high, but it looks like something (water) is trapped between the clear coat and the base coat. Anyway, I got it in writing and signed by the manager that they are going to fix it. If you ask me, they are going to have to do a total repaint of the hood. Doesn't matter to me, as long as it gets fixed.

She's sleeping now in the garage with 75 miles on her.
