Stock Tires

Anyone in the New England area drive on stock tires year-round or are they too performance oriented to have any traction in the snow (even with AWD)?

Thanks

the stock advans blow in any condition except dry pavement, and warm wet pavement. if you do buy an evo in the new england area you will need something else, for sure.

yea I tried them out in the snow just for ****s and giggles
I did this in a private community with no cars around and nothing to hit lol
mines an 05 so I had the ACD set to snow
if you go easy on acceleration its not that bad
turning is a bit fun,,,just stay on the throttle or give it more and it'll go...a bit lol
now when starting from a stop and trying to turn...haah....its like an overpowered RWD car....always sideways
so yea get some snow tires like I did....like we all do(if its driven in the winter)

I went last winter on the stock Advans...BAD IDEA! I had no traction at all and lost it twice in one day and scraped up two rims from curb damage.

I swapped the stockers for some Michilin Artic Alpins this winter and I couldn't be happier. Traction is predictable and yes, with a little throttle, you can provoke the back end out.

Don't drive with the stockers in the snow......fixing rims is NOT cheap.

Advans are summer tires only. Yoko AVS-DB2 is all-season rubber.

Don't even try the stock tires in the snow.
