fwd and awd

hello evolutionm.net
i reacently carsh my 94 acura integra gsr supercharged i had a couple
mod, the car ran 13.5 at the track .i reacently went road racing
in my integ and i was entering the corner at 4 gear at 7800rpms downshifted to 3rd tries screechin and my rear tires gave way i lost control and rolled the car totaled it. i am lookin to buy evo8 manily an RS.i was wondering if i was in the same case as i was i the integra in an evo8 would i have made it out of the corner. i know
it all about corner speeds and the right gear the catch traction, since its is all wheel drive would i have made it. this is one of the reason i want to buy an evo8
and its just better the an STI SOON TO B EVO8 OWNER I HOPE

with the wider sticky tires I would say so but we rather you get a Sti so you don't increase our rates

Wow, that was pretty cold.

Good luck on the purchase though if you decide to go with the Evo.

wont be as much of an issue with the evo but you still have to be a bit careful.a do some searches on the site for how the evos handle. theres a few vids from that UK show(cant think of the name) wich are very informative. ill see if i have them and post a link.

YOU messed up downshifting. But In an evo if you enter to fast you will need to get off the gas. Get the car a little sideways, countersteer then when the car is in the direction u need to go HIT THE GAS! thats the best way to save yourself! THe evo will get sideways quick which can be an advantage if you know how 2 get it back on track!

OH! You dont want an RS if your going to be Road racing and track racing
RS = STRAIGHT LINE CAR!

To answer the question above, no I don't think you'll have that bad of a problem, cuz the Evo's handling is really predictable, unless you set your suspension up for some crazy oversteer or some other crazy setup. Stock-wise, you can do a lot still. I've taken some crazy turns on the streets in first gear and shifting mid-turn, without any traction loss.

the way you crashed you teg, is only because u enter the turn too fast, an evo would probably do a better job, but if u go beyond the limit u can roll an evo as well, i personaly road race my type r and never had any problem with it, except spinning out a couple of times, u must have been gooing into that turn way way too fast. good luck with the evo it s goign to be easier to drive, but still be carfull u can roll an evo as well.

this thread sucks. this is exactly the type of person that yields young drivers sky high insurance premiums. They think that AWD means infinite roadholding and the ability to climb out of any situation. Do everyone else on the roads a favor and go to a track or stay off the public roads. 7800 rpms in 4th gear? are u kidding? this isn't initial d. grow up.

and DCSilvr, RS = straight line car? How so? It's stripped to be lighter and quicker around the track. are u forgetting evo's were bred on the WRC? Is that a straight line?

evo's aren't drag racing cars people. cmon, respect it's heritage.

Be mature with your 3000+ lb piece of steel. Don't be idiots, kids. Trying to be the fastest at anything on public roads is a deadend. literally. This person doesn't deserve such a fine piece of automotive technology. Being impetuous gets you killed in real life.

I don't want to run into you on the street when you're sideways in 4th gear. Get a sweet bicycle and spare us.

geeze, the guy asked a simple question. leave the lectures on your desktop. back on topic..

yes, the evo will allow you to push the limits a lot further than your integra, but with any car, you have to know its limits. having said that, if you know how drive the evo, it can save your *** in a lot of situations as some other posters have described here. good luck with your purchase.

Why would you downshift at 7,800 rpms in 4th? What's the redline on that thing?

AWD doesn't make up for poor driving, but I can only assume you've just had one bad experience and are an otherwise good driver.

VTEC2EVO Brush off what you've read here most guys are awsome and enjoy road racing to the limit. We all have our bad day weather it's tring to perfect a new technic or just pushing for the extra .2 secs. I've been down to the track alot with the evo completly stock. Sadly no gauges even and I can push new limits but I have also learned my limits. The car will go far beyond anything else you've ever drove and with certian miner upgrades the car can go further. Don't think of the evo like your adv daily driver it is a race car ment to race. It's already set up and ready to go. Save for a clutch and buy one before the stock one goes out and cause you tranny problems. Enjoy the car and enoy the looks you get and have fun.
