New

I know I'm new. I know about other forums so I don't think it will be a problem with me using the search button or any of the "classic" newb problems.

I have a sliver 2002 Lancer ES. Yes, I have already taken it to the track and I will be going back tonight. As of right now the only mod that I have on that car is an off-brand coffee can muffler that was already on the car when I bought it from the Used Car dealership.

Well then... Welcome. You should see what you can do about that so-called coffee can muffler of yours.

not saying you should change the coffee can, but you should seriously think of either bigger piping ie. custom exhaust or buy aftermarket exhaust system, that way you get the sound along with the horsepower gain!! from one newb to another welcome!!

I'm running a 17.162 (best time) that was my 2nd run at the track ever. My first one was a 17.166 and this is all stock. I don't know how i'm running faster than people who have mods.

yeah, coffee can mufflers and lancers don't mix well, there's a kid here with one and an Evo 8 wing on his 02 OZ... he also thinks that if my car was full of people and his was empty he could totally smoke me in a race... Moral of this story: people who PUT the coffee can mufflers on are stupid, if it was there already and sounds cool, keep it till you can get a full exhaust

I thought I was bad over at a local forum where I was at 4s a day for 1/2 year.

I even have a passion for the rotary and don't post there that often.
