yea i removed mine too, due to the stereo system, i wouldnt be able to get to the spare tire anyway, so it kinda equaled itself out weight wise lol

I removed it... haha i'm afraid that i'll ruin the weight distribution even more tho... it already like... 60/40 i think? removing more weight in the back could be counter-productive

yea i removed mine years ago, kinda annoying though cuz when i put stuff ontop, it just bends that wooden board down cuz theres no spare tire to keep the board straight

i took off wooden board (just measured, 5 lb) w/carpet too. then i put some winter fabric to cover whole trunk area. got more trunk space now. my trunk space looks more like towncar .

so total would be
spare tire(30 lb) + tools,jack(6 lb)+wooden board(5 lb)= saved (41 lb) wow thats alot.

if it's driving in the US it has to. it's illegal to drive a vehicle that doesn't have one on board, so every manufacturer that sells cars in the US has to supply it

I keep mine in there, that little bit of extra weight isn't worth anything when your just driving on the streets. At the track maybe thats one thing, but what do you all plan on doing when you get a flat? I was sure happy to have mine with me

At autoX or track time it always comes out, but I have gotten a flat in my last car so it's definately staying in there

Unless your car is equipped with runflat tires. Several cars (that come with runflats) carry no spare -
BMW Z4, Mini Cooper S ...
