Evo 7 Or Evo 8
Evo 7 Or Evo 8
When I had my evo 8 i often got beat by the evo 7's....i know they are a little more powerful but why is that? why wouldnt they make the newer model a better one? Was an evo 7 in the movie 2 fast 2 furious?
Just curious thanks

I'm pretty sure that Celm is the only guy with an Evo VII in NE, but I'm not the Evo VII master. Yes, the Evo VII was in 2F2F.
A while back Mitsubishi was considering bringing the Evo VII to the U.S., of course, it didn't happen, they decided to wait and see how the WRX turned out and brought us the VIII. It was a better financial move for them.

they did have us spec vii's , not sold here, but it was the cars they used for testing and gave to magazines to test drive when they planned on bringing them here. they released them as viii's because it was the us first version so they wanted to rename it and they changed the bumper for crash rating.

If it wasn't sold here it wasn't US spec. While it might have been left hand drive that doesn't mean it meats US crash test standards or emissions.
They did not rename the Evo 7 the Evo 8. It is a different model. While they do share alot of parts there are also alot of parts that are different from the 7 to the 8.

Ahhh no, that was not a us spec evo that got renamed. It was a Japan Evo7 for real.
There were alot of LHD Evo 7s made for some European markets... It's common for car manufacturer's to get left hand drive EDM(european domestic market) cars for testing purposes. I've seen one yellow Evo 7 being driven by a GM engineer before the Evo8's were sold.
Here's an example of a German market LHD Evo7...

For the record, the Evo VII in that movie came from Spain (that's what I remember hearing, but I can't remember where from...I know it was a reliable source though), and it ran a 15.3 at the track when SCC tested it

i seen a red 7 one time around the ft lauderdale beach area, not sure if it was a conversion but i seen a young kid driveing it. so more then likely it could have been a front bumper and hood conversion.
