what up all just wanted to interduce myself before i start posting up for later. picked up a 05 8 yesterday and being really nice to it. i get a lot of looks but hopefully not too many from the cops, dont really mind the looks from the other ppl, they usually just want to race but thats a no no for now. just making sure im staying under 4k which is really hard. too many ppl are trying to race me but its not even worth my time haha. but i think i stopped street racing because i have too many points on my record from previous car and bike
im following what the dealer said about the 4k rpm and will not go over no matter what when under 1000 miles but will the car last a lot longer if you do keep it under

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the fam.
You should certainly keep it under 4 thousand RPM's. Mitsu has done research and found that Evo's (and other 4G63's) keeping under 4 during the first thousand have fewer engine problems, particularly with burning oil. Those who have scratched the itch before 1K have apparently paid the price of burning significant amounts of oil. Take good care of her and she'll take good care of you...mine has!

yea been driving around hoping that i get over 1000 soon hahaha got myself a viper alarm with the turbo timer, wanted to know if anyone has this and if its worth it.
welcome man, i've heard the same and it makes perfect sense. the engine isnt ready to working at full pace when its brand new. it must be eased into it, at least ive always thought so. mitsu made the break in specs for a reason, stick to em and you'll be A.O.K.
