Clutch Slipping?

I need to know for certain if my clutch is slipping. Its been getting a little worse and I only have had the car for 2 days. when you get on the gas and shift up the car revs freely while I shift 500 sometimes 800 rpms. I believe this is the stock clutch going out but I need to be sure.
This is only when I go say 4k rpms just driving the car normally keeping it under or around 3k it doesnt do it. Evo only has 7800 miles on it.

Go from a dead stop in 5th gear and slip the clutch out, if the clutch is all the way out and the engine is still stumbling then the clutch is slipping.

i assume you bought it used (and abused). yes, it sounds like your clutch is toast.

there's alot easier way... get on the highway... take it up to say 2500 or 3000... and simply floor it.. if the tach shoots up and then comes back down its toast and you better switch it out soon before you end up having to resurface the flywheel

Mr.Slappy drive in first gear at like 30 mph then press in the clutch while in 5th gear rev to 5K rpm and let go of the clutch If the Rpms jump down VERY VERY fast then the clutch is good but if its going to take some time for the RPMS to go back to normal your clutch is GONE ....

Hope this helped

I will go out and try what you guys have suggested. I found the rpm rise problem from the clutch dying thread and those guys explaining it is exactly whats happening to mine. Whenever I'm in boost the rpm's will rise slighty when the clutch is engaged.
