Hi,
I'm sure this has been covered many times before , but heres one more chance to convert a subie lover to a Mitsu fan! I'm buying a evo or sti BUT I'm leaning to the evo just by its looks alone is there any really good reasons why I should buy one over a sti! and yes I wanna race it! WOT

race it where and how? And liking the Evo by looks alone... well then in your book, the Evo should beat the STi in everything else... and don't EVER be a Mitsu fan... I'm more of a subie fan than a mitsu fan... but I'm more of an Evo fan than an STi fan.... I wish Suby had made the Evo... Mitsubishi sucks, the Evo rocks
thats is the general feeling i have beeen getting about mitsu I have been picking up. I'm gonna race whatever I get at portland international. Oh and can anyone tell me what kinda toys I could get for it in the 2000 dollar range that would make it faster. seeing as the evo has amazing handeling already.

im not to sure about the mivec motor. looks complicated. there are some tuners out here looking away on such a motor. but then again we might be suprised.

I will not have to convince you. Just go test drive both and you'll find out. I drove both. Handling wise Evo is a scalpul STi dull butter knife.

Mitsu versus Scooby....
This'll be fun.
The 4G63. Show me one other motor in Japanese history that has been around for as long as it has, can be modified as much as it can, can hold 400 WHP and above on a stock short block, and can be worked on by as many people as it can. The boxer motors found in Scoobys simply can't compare. They seem to have fairly weak connection rods that tend to snap after simple mods. Also, horizintally-opposed motors aren't the cheapest motors to work on, either. Now, If you want some kick-*** power adders for around 2 grand, here would be my shopping list: Buschur Racing Stage 1 and 2. This will cost you $2060 before shipping. I would also recommend substituting the S-AFC II instead of the flash so that you can truely tune the car for your area / type of gas that you have access to. The ECU flashes they offer do rock, but end user tunability is non-existent. With the S-AFC II, you can tweak things a bit to make the car really come alive.
I love both Subarus and Mitsubishis, but my heart is with the tripple diamonds. I've been driving / racing / building / tuning them for over a decade now and I can't get enough of them.
Hope this helps you in someway,
I'me sure you'll be happy with either vehicle.
This'll be fun.

It's funny, because I hate Mitsubishi, yet love the Evo.
I am also much more of a Subaru fan (like UT), but the USDM STi is weaksauce.

Your link does not work for me...

Another reason maybe to get an EVO would be the amount of STI's vs Evos in your area. Like in my area I see an STI almost every day. Probably the same ones but still. I have only seen 3 EVO's ever. And twice it was the same Evo.
Just a thought.

I used to own a WRX and now own an EVO. Same as you the STi just looks way too FUGLY to me. I love the look of the EVO. Both cars are about the same performance wise. Do a search on and you'll see it been covered many time before .... Ultimately you have to get what makes you happy ....

you wanna race so you're gonna mod. if you're gonna mod, then the evo is in a different league. The STi is just too expensive to get the same power.
I'm sold on the evo now its just to figure out if I want to get a used one or a new one. I have seen that I can save butt loads of money on a used one but then I might be looking at a new tranny. A new clutch is nothing for me to worry about. I cant wait to get one I saw one driving to school and they look so damn mean and sexy. I will be getting one one way or another in the next three months. I wanna see this video that the link didnt work for.
