They make you watch a video that explains it all.

i really dont think think they are going to make me watch a video especially this place..well anyways im not that noob..i know about the car..im just asking about the break in period cause i heard completely different stories..with my 98 m3..they told me beat the **** out of it to break it in....just floor it completely..then another person said..take it easy and go slow for the break in..oh well maybe someone can be more specific, rather than watch a video.

If you're buying it from a place that isn't gonna show you the video, DON'T buy it... they won't have a ****ing clue what they're selling you, and neither will you... That video comes with EVERY Evo I've ever heard of being sold, even from crappy little dealerships... But the owners manual says what to do anyway, and if you can't find it there, I believe the suggested is 500-1000 miles, sub 4000 rpms, stay off boost as much as possible.

I drove mine very conservativly for the first 600 miles and got the oil changed. then drove it another 1000 miles, still conservativly, and got the oil changed again. i have had no problems at all with mine yet. you should know UT EVO that it is extremely hard not to hit boost with the very responsive turbo that the evo comes with.

LOL love that video! Shows a few clips of the Evo rally car racing, then tells you not to do that. Its like putting candy in front of a kid and saying you cant have it. Hell, I had to take a test.

Its like stay under 5k in the first 600-800 miles, and easy on the brakes for 300 miles.

I said stay off boost as much as possible... even with all my mods I can keep boost below 10 pounds really easily... it's hard to stay off ANY boost, but pushing the full stock 18.7 isn't good (basically, don't go full throttle, there, y'all happy now?)

Oh yeah, and you'd be surprised how many Bimmer owners have no clue how fast the Evo is, I have 330 owners telling me "whoa, that's a pretty quick car you've got there" all the time...

*sigh* Again, you shouldn't have been able to do ANYTHING during a test drive to make you smile, unless it was used. If you were able to get into the boost, high rpm, hard braking, hard shifting, or make use of the AWD system from a stop, then I hope you are buying the one you test drove. I would not have bought my Evo if I wasn't absolutely sure it had just come off the truck and not been driven by anyone else.

What stock does 20.5? Do the 05s do 20.5 from the 10.5 hotside? I've never heard of any over 19.5, but I have heard of a few crazy ones up above 19, but 19 is what they claim stock is, and most do around 18.5-19 that I've seen... maybe it's an altitude thing
