What the hell is a flash?

 

A Flash is just basically a tune to your ECU to maximize the power from your car with either the mods you have or just to improve your stock settings to squeeze out more power...best bang for you buck. Al from Dynoflash.com does good work. Turbotrix, Works, Vishnu, etc all do flashes and all do them well...it boils down to who you prefer.

As far as what domestickilla should get,do like everyone else said. I would go with Boost Guage, MBC, Exhaust, and flash and in that order from my opinion. Buschur Racing has a great exhaust system. If you still can't figure out what to do with that 1000 I will be glad to take it off your hands...been looking at some new wheels

 

thanks for you help guys... i was thinking about B&B TB, downpipe, and flash.. i already have the APS intake... is that a good way to go?

 

My vote for best TBE - get a turboxs DP for 250-300 bucks, a Megan racing 3-4' can for 40 bucks, and then take it to a muffler shop and have the guy take off the stock stuff and connect the can to the DP with 3" aluminum for 80 -100 bucks.

Net cost - 420. Not mandrel bent, no fancy names - if (baseline) this setup dynos less than 2whp than the stuff you guys are talking about, I will eat my downpipe.

Almost all the vendors on here sell great stuff - but I'm glad I made this a DIY project. You can almost buy cams for the money you save... hell, you can buy cams and gears for the money you save over some of the TI exhausts... (Six pounds lighter!) ... I can void my bladder and take a good crap and save six pounds!

That being said - a flash that includes boost control or an MBC would be next... and an intake if you want it to sound cool without buying a VTA BOV. (and guages so you know how much you're boosting)

Do what I did - read a lot, and say very little. I've been reading this forum for almost two years, and I'm still a newbie.

Pretend you're a biscuit, and suck up the knowledge, like it's gravy. Just learn to ignore the stupid ****, which is about half of what goes on here ... and you're set!

I think you should start with exhaus... 1 hi flow down pipe 2 hi flow cat 3 Muffler delete pipe. I like Buschur and went with 2.5" instead of 3". I will eventually upgrade... but I am trying to keep the tq and hp balanced until the turbo upgrade. Also hallman boost controller and guage. All in about 1000.

Go to www.buschurracing.com and see what all you can buy from them. I would recommend getting the full Turbo back exhaust first. Talk to Jarrod up there he can help you out.

Mark of turbo trix will be in your area in July 25 (not sure of the date though), he can reflash your oe ecu and install an mbc, this is a very inexpensive mod that will give you far more whp than anything else, then you can go for your tb down the line.
