old school evo's and vr4s

Well I have been looking @ making the jump for a project, i thought bout buying an evo earlier but decided against

now the itch is back and there are 2 cars that interest me

early 90s vr4 gallants

and

the early evos

the question i have is can you folks help me with questions and resources in regard to this - in particular have you had any expirience with the vr4 and the engine .

i am concerned about aftermarket support and more importantly the durability and replacement parts for the engine

GrassRoots Motorsports Magazine had a great article on the VR4.

I'd send you the date, but the mag. is at home. I believe it was two issues ago. They talked all about the VR4 and some of the things to look for and plan on building one up.

Good Luck,

jcnel.

Aside from putting in gas and maintenance, every car is a money pit so go for it!

I used to have a 91 Galant VR4. #187/2000. It was a sweet car but most all ive seen are money pits and they run like *** until you tune em. If you find one that actually works.

my friend has a vr4 for sale. garage kept. it runs good and has two rust spots. one on the passenger side. i forgot where exactly, but it is rather small. and one on the trunk that is bubling. cheap fixes though. it is an 11 sec vr4. very clean. paint is not faded much. he also has a low 12 sec evo, a 10 sec talon, and he just sold a gsx. so he knows how to tune, and care for mitsus. he also has 2 sets of very nice tires and rims for the car. the tires and rims alone are worth 2gs. i think he wants 6k or 7k. pm me if interested in pics and more specs.

They are bloody money pits! I have a 3000 GT VR4 and now I've bought an EVO. I must be out of my mind!
