Poorest Evo Owners
Having an Evo at <25k is simply impossible unless your parents or sugar momma/daddy is paying for your living expenses.
If you're living on your own, you need to make around 40k to be comfortable and make payments on an Evo at the same time. Ideal would be 50k plus but you can get by with 40k.

I take home about $30k a year at my new job. I was military, e4 at 3yrs when i bought mine. No downpayment. The car was my life. Just about my entire paycheck went to paying for the car. Now I have slightly better income. But I now have rent and bills to pay. I'm ok, but far from as comfortable as I want to be.

The cost of living and buying your own place has gone up drastically in the last 4yrs. I'd be hard pressed to find anyone making $35k a year, paying a mortgage and paying a car note, let alone and evo, now.
I understand your point about parents buying kids this car when they are in high school. I completely agree with you there.
But about living on there dime, even after they are out of high school. I was extremely lucky to find my job. I was unemployed for 3 days when I got out of the military, fortunately I was on leave. Had I not find this job, I would have moved back home to CT and lived with my father. I'm 23, I've been to places and seen things half the population won't ever see in their lifetime, yet I would still have to live at home because I can't afford a $300,000 starter home. Things are a lot tougher and more expensive for us than it ever was for our parents. Not saying our parents had it easy. But the amount the average college or high school grad is making right out of school compared to cost of living is drastically different now than it was then.

$300,000 for a starter home - wtf

If you have been all over the world then you know that you don't have to live in an expensive part of the country. If you want to live on the east coast or coastal cali then make the sacrifice and don't buy an evo. BTW I just bought a like new 2003 evo for $23000. Most people could afford the payments on that.
