New EVO VIII owner! With a few Questions!
New EVO VIII owner! With a few Questions!
Hello my name is Nate.
I just recently purchased an 04 EVO VIII from a long time friend. The car had 10,471 miles at time of pick-up. He had it custom tuned by Turbotrix. The mods include RMR intercooler pipes/ HKS 264 cams both intake and exhaust/ wall fuel pump 255lph/ Intake/ Turbo back exhaust/ Turbo trix custom ECU flash/ ect... I know him and know that he takes good care of his stuff.
I look forward to all future interaction with the EVO community and hope to learn and contribute to the continued growth of it.

What is a good price for this EVO VIII?
He said that with his current mods the car should be making 340AWHP .
Does anyone else have simuliar mods and dyno sheets to share so that I can just reference them?
This is what I still have but I put it up for sell a few weeks ago. Links to it and a list of modifications. On the highway it is hard to beat. It had the potential to run low 11's in the 1/4 mile all day and with the right driver it probly could have dipped into the high 10's. I just out grew the car.

Hey Nate how are ya? Your Z is gorgeous I've always been a sucker for 300's, low 11's indeed. A good price for the evo is mid to low 20's. Sucks your selling your Z but welcome to the family...Theres fruit punch in the kitchen.

I would like to get $22,000.00 but any serious offer that I recieve will be considered. I know that it will take awhile to sell but once the right owner comes along they will be more than willing to pay for this Z. It is one the cleanest I have ever seen. It was also tuned with longevity in mind. It trully is the complete package.
However, after serving in the military overseas in Japan my heart grew fond of the EVO from the V to the VIII they are definately the bench mark in handling and braking abilities out of the box. Power is definately adequate! Keep in mind I am turning over a car that has 150+ WHP and WTQ over this car. The thing that I love the most about the EVO VIII is that all power is transfered to the ground. With the RWD 300ZX TT it was not as effective dispite full suspension upgrades.

The Z is pretty nice, but the 440whp was made with race fuel AND water injection. That's what Jose is making with just race gas on the stock turbo, so it's not altogether impressive, and I'm not sure it would run low 11s easily at all, since it weighs over 3500lbs (300 more than the Evo).

Thank you and yep the Z was very fast! They are most powerful on highway roll on(s). Aero dynamics and long gearing help that. I noticed that my new Evo raps out in all geas much sooner than the Z.
The Z:
1st 57mph
2nd 77mph
3rd 112mph
4th 140? something like that
5th 190 this where it should rap out
My max speed was some where in the 170's. Not 100% sure, speedo only shows 165 but I was still pulling. Very scary at that rate of speed!

Congrats on the purchase. I felt the need for the transition too as I used to drive a '91 Z TT as well. and there's just no comparison for the handling and steering quickness of the Evos. Have fun with it
