Guide to buying a used Evo?

Maybe I can't use the search feature properly, but I can't find a guide to buying a used Evo.

Would I be better off buying a used 2-3 year old one from a Mitsubishi dealer or a private sale? Can I tell if the car was modified then the stock parts were put on before it was put up for sale? What are the common problems after the cars have been driven for 2+ years?

Buying from a dealer, or privately makes no difference IMO. If the car was beat on it was beat on, if it was taken care of....you can tell. I like buying privately because I get to meet the owner and find out all the info about the car, dealers usually only know what they are told, and most of the time charge more. Some parts that were modified and put back to stock can be spotted, and easily spotted if they did a careless job putting it back. I wouldnt worry about a slightly modded evo though. I see that your in pa, check put my evo in the cars for sale section.
