Just Bought a Lancer ES - New to Site
First and foremost I would like to say that this site is awesome for someone like me, This is my first import and I want gonna mod my old piece of **** so I never got into the modding world - If there is any advice that you all could give (What to get in what order that would be most effective, Preformance wise) That would be great. PLZ avoid acronyms because I probaly wont know what your talking about so plz just explain the mods you suggest (if any) This would be alot of help - thank you
Welcome fellow newb
Welp first off I'd like to say welcome to the site. This really is a great site and I've learned much from it and hope you will to. Lemme show ya a link...
OZ,ES,LS Upgrade Path for Newbs- ROAD/RACE
People are gonna tell you different things based on their experience and preference. It also matteres a great deal as to wether you want to stay n/a (naturally aspirated) or go for a turbo/supercharger. The best thing to do would probably get a good idea of the products that are available...
All sites to shop online for the US Mitsubishi Lancer oz, ls, and es
Once you see whats out there, try to form an idea of where you're headed and what's most important to you wether it be handling, power, or looks. I'm guessing since you said performance that you'd want to draw more power out of ur lancer but jus startin off...typical bolt ons will do like a cold air intake(if you're manuel) and a short ram intake(if you're an automatic). As for exhausts...it depends on how much you want to spend. There are two great catback exhausts for sale for our lancer (GReddy and Magnaflow) but i've heard of some getting a good universal exhaust from a good company and getting custom piping done at a muffler shop. It all depends how deep ur pockets are.
Another great piece of advice....always search before asking questions! There's already a great deal of info on these forums and it would be a waste for the questions and information to be posted twice.
Anyways with that said..happy moding

Well, we don't know what year lancer you have, how bout a year? 2004-2005? or the old style, 2002-2003? I would start of modding with freeing up the exhaust and intake, or save up right off the bat for a forced induction kit such as a turbo or supercharger. I lean more toward the turbo, just because so many people have it, and its proven to be very reliable with the nice complete kits that RRM (Road Race Motorsports) puts together. Suspension mods are always helpful too. The stock suspension is kinda sloppy, so I'd go with a nice set of lowering springs and strut bars. It helps a ton! Its all up to you, give us a little budget and what you are hoping for out of the lancer you just got.
Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your car. Word of advise in here, use the search feature before asking anything. The folks in here are nothing more than bloodthirsty vultures towards folks that don't use the search feature. They must have skipped newb status when they joined.
if he does ask us. i will kill him and the entire population of southern australia.
