i have the mcculloch's too. its the gen V. i would not go over anything than 6000k. i am even having a hard time with them. i might go down to 5300k

 

i bought a set from him also they work fine with no problems and i have 8000k i bought a set for my wrx also before i bought the evo no problems the light is very nice

 

i purchased my evo 8 with 12000 miles on it and both ballasts are bad. does that happen frequently. i replaced both bulbs which wasnt cheap and i have power going into both ballasts, the bulbs still wont fire.i guess ill keep trouble shooting it and try and get the ballasts warrantied at the dealer
