Interesting...
No I'm not saying that, I'm saying that the hp difference is what makes the difference, mostly so anyway. Earlier you stated this: "Evo8 is no doubt a quick car...but have you driven a S2 before? I wouldn't use the word smoke...maybe quicker off the line." Quicker off the line?? MUCH quicker off the line is more accurate. And, I would say SMOKE. I have only ran up against a couple of S2000's and it was most definitely "a smoke", as in like "I smoked them like a cheap cigar". Don't take me wrong here, I think the S2K is a wonderful car but in a straight line acceleration contest against an Evo, it's no contest.

well hehe seems like it but like s2000 deff not for speed. every one who has it says sucks for speed and what not but for handling its a beast. and for as evo it has both speed and handling. but if all you want is to go down the road at 180 get a sti they will hit that evo only hit like 157. so you pick and i will be post the seats what evo05 leather should have looked like and then would of be so nice for going around tunrings

Not trying to be argumenative(even though I am, lol) but it's not "what I believe". I think we all, or most of us anyway know for a fact that in a straight line acceleration test the Evo is quite a bit faster. From a dig the Evo is faster, much faster. So now that you own an Evo, is it slower than your previous S2K?

Can't really say...I only have 200 miles on the odo. Of course, the Evo is quicker off the line and when the turbo kicks in it's a blast. I have heard the S2's advantage after 110 miles. I heard in top gear the Evo will slow down drastically.
Again, it's wat I heard and not experience yet. Two different cars two differen powerbands.

Jesus, what the hell is wrong with you guys....this post was about seating position not power/performance. Yeah the evo does sit alot higher! But after a couple of thousand miles you will get used to it.......one way to deal with the height is to do the "50 cent thang"....... recline the seat to it's lowest position, turn your shoulders sideways (so that your left arm is reaching for the steering wheel), and steer with your palm.....dont forget the spinners.

Hehe, in terms of the clutch, I think you may be able to adjust the engagement point right?

Bobby

The seating position in the Evo is much more comfortable. It is a sedan, not a sports coupe. When I had my 91 GSX I would get backaches from long drives. I was literally almost laying down.

Well take your time and break her in correctly, you'll be glad you did later. I don't understand what you meant by saying "I have heard the S2's advantage after 110 miles." As for top gear, I don't think it slows down that much but it is a high gear no doubt. After you slap a few mods on her; ie cams etc, it helps with that quite a bit. I think after you own it for awhile and/or take a long trip or two you will grow to appreciate the seating position. With you coming from the sporty, confidence inspiring seating position of the S2K I can understand how you feel right now, but like I said, I think she'll grow on ya. What do you think of the handling of the Evo vs your S2K?

I know what you are saying Spoon, I used to own a lowered 92 lude and that thing was like driving while sitting on the ground. I did get back pains after long trips though. Must say the evo is more comfortable as far as that goes.

After around 110 miles is when the S2 will start taking over the Evo in speed. Let's not get into mods...I believe in being fair in every aspect and once mods comes into the picture everything goes out of wack. As far as handling the characteristic of both car are different in it's stock form.

I can't comment on the Evo yet, still breaking it in. All I could say is when hitting hard corner the car bites into a corner. While the S2 cuts into one. When you point the S2 into a direction it goes. Now the S2 has a bad case of oversteering, so If you can master that then the S2 does handle better. On the Evo I could feel the weight on a corner, but this is where the front keeps on biting into a turn. Evo is a great handling car and this is the reason why I chose the Evo over the STI. Once i'm more comfortable with the car I will comment more.

Again...different cars, different characters
